PERFORMANCE: This upgrade heats the vegetable oil fuel just as it leaves the fuel tank thus eliminating some of the bad side effects of constantly heating the oil inside the tank. Coolant heat from the engine is used to reduce the oil viscosity and increase and fuel flow to the engine. A 1/2 inch over sized fuel tank outlet fitting and hose is provided to increase the gravity flow rate of the cold oil from the tank to the sump heater. A valve is included that will allow you to shut of flow of fuel from the tank when removing or servicing this unit.
Note: This is a builders kit meaning you must assembly the fittings of the sump heater yourself with the supplied epoxy. This is not a complete kit. You will also need rubber fuel hose and rubber coolant hose to build a heated fuel path under the car. Fittings to connect to the engine heater hoses are also not included. INSTALLATION NOTES: The unit itself can be quickly installed in the spare tire well of a 116, 123 and 126 sedan and coupe only. This will not install in a TD wagon. Most spare tires will easily fit in their original position. Some larger spares may have to be moved to the left and will prevent using the factory hold down bolt. Hooking it up is a different matter. The most difficult parts to install are the new tank outlet fitting and hose. You will have to drain your fuel tank to install the new fitting and hose in your factory fuel tank screen. Complete hookup instructions are included when you buy this kit as part of the STC Dual Tank Upgrade. CLICK HERE to view full kit.
