126 1981 electric seat trouble?

ok i have 12v at the plug coming from the switch . new switch. when i put power to the other side of the plug under the seat the seat moves. when i plug the 2 together nothing. any ideas? Thank`s Rick

Check for broken wire

Rick, check for a broken wire (inside the insulation) right where the wiring harness leaves the front of the door and enters the door post. It can cause intermittent operation , the contact breaks down during electrical load, and drive you nuts trying to find the problem. Yes, I have seen this happen more than once! Kent Bergsma
