In my limited experience with WVO I have encountered several kinds and types out there, It seems that it is universal knowledge to stick with what originally was 100% pure oil of some kind and to stay away from the hydrogenated stuff. My question goes further... I like to know what are the better WVOs? and what kind of WVOs to avoid?. Maybe on a "TOP 10" format. Corn, Soybean, Rice, Cottonseed, Canola, Peanut, Palmoil, etc, etc, etc. If there is any written information about this please refer, this will help all current and future lipid users.
Different types of WVO
I've had quite good results with straight soy. Sometimes _surprisingly_ low gel point. Ran it on a simple single-tank system already installed in my "new" 1983 300D through some quite chilly weather, down into the 40s and even upper 30s overnight. Of course, I'm out on the California coast, so nothing too hardcore weather-wise... But it got me to work every day. New Duratherms (and a cleaning-out with one of those last spiral reamers) await the veggie turbodiesel - as soon as I have a free weekend, that is!
Can't wait to hear some other experiences with oil types.
Any more SVO experts out there?
