e300D Block Heater

Fits early 123 240D and non-turbo 300D, 300CD and 300TD 1977 to 1979 with possibly some early 1980 models. CAUTION WHEN ORDERING: You must check the length of your lower radiator hose and compare it with this picture before ordering. There is a vin split in late 1979 and early 1980 and we have even seen cases where engines have been changed so your vin number will not guarantee a correct fit. This is the LONG RADIATOR HOSE used on the early models. It measures approximately 20 inches in length in a straight line end to end. Measure your hose first to compare before you order.

DO NOT ORDER UNLESS YOUR HOSE MATCHES THIS APPROXIMATE LENGTH.
PLEASE READ WARNING AT END OF DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE ORDERING.

Having an efficient block heater is great for those cold winter mornings, but it also is great just for the health of the engine. You get less wear, less noise and less smoke when you start up a warm diesel engine in the morning. This quality aftermarket heater is made in Canada. It is a 600W / 120V unit. I have found it to be more efficient than the factory heater and a whole lot easier to install. (Just try replacing a frozen in factory heater plug on a turbo diesel and you know what I mean!). We include new hose clamps and detailed instructions for proper installation on the lower radiator hose.

If you are running SVO or WVO (used grease) in your diesel this heater is a must. Plug this in at night and you will not have to shut down or start up on diesel the next morning. The heater will keep the engine and the grease tank warm overnight (if you have a heat exchanger in the holding tank warmed by engine coolant). Just get in the car, start right up on grease and hit the road! NKM5 WVO

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to inside diameter variations on some radiator coolant hoses, we have opted to provided this block heater with the correct brand new German heater hose and it will be cut to the proper length and fitted for you. This will assure you of correct fit as the block heater itself has been installed in the correct portion of the hose as shown in the picture. When you receive this part it will be ready to install. You will also receive 2 high quality OEM hose clamps that must be tightened after installation. You can use your original hose clamps for the upper and lower section of the hose. Save your old hose as a spare. DE26

WARNING: This is an efficient engine coolant heater and gets very hot. It can quickly burn out if subject to operator error or abuse. DO NOT plug it in to check if it gets hot. It will quickly burn out. Be assured that it works! DO NOT plug it in directly after installation. YOU MUST DRIVE your car for a least one-day with a minimum of two (2) start-ups and cool-downs to make sure you have no air trapped in your cooling system. If there is air anywhere in the hoses the unit will burn out. Air in your coolant system will cause the engine temperature to run hot or in some cases run cold. If your engine temperature is not running normal DO NOT plug the block heater in. Check coolant level after your run in period. It must be at the full mark before attempting to heat the engine. Failure to follow the above instructions to the letter will void the warranty.

Warranty: This unit is warranted for a period of 90 days after purchase. In the event of failure during that period please email us for return instructions. Due to the problems mentioned above, our supplier will not just allow us to send out a new unit. The old unit must be returned for inspection before a free replacement can be shipped or a refund issued. If you need an immediate replacement we can send out another block heater and bill you for it. Then when your old unit is returned, our supplier will inspect it to determine if the failure was caused by a manufacturing defect. If not, then we will issue an appropriate credit or refund.
