This is one cool pre or final protection fuel filter. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Not only is it all metal, just the right size, has a 60 micron large cleanable screen, but it can be taken apart by hand... and that is certainly a big plus when you are out on the road faced with a plugged-up filter!
This metal filter is made in Italy. It has a quality all aluminum housing and a stainless steel mesh screen. It measures 2 and 1/4 inch in diameter and 3 inches tall. It is just the right size and micron rating to be a great prefilter for any fuel pump or diesel injection pump. It can be used to replace the existing plastic pre-filters on most diesel engines. The bowl has ridges on it for a good grip and you can turn it counterclockwise as view from the bottom to remove it.

With the bowl removed you only need to reach in and pull the screen out of the bowl for cleaning.

There are rubber seals that seal both the top and bottom of the screen housing. The bowl is sealed to the head with a large 0-ring.

INCLUDED: Filter is shipped with three brass fittings, two quality hose clamps, and complete instructions as shown. The two nipple fittings are for 8 mm or 5/16 inch fuel hose (standard Mercedes fuel hose size). Also comes with a stiff bristle cleaning brush.
It is an excellent final filter (before injection pump) in SVO operations to protect your injection pump from particulate damage. The size and micron rating let even the thickest vegetable oil to pass through except in sub-freezing temperatures. It is heat resistant and holds up well to hot SVO.
As an option we offer this as a more permanent pre-filter for our Aux. Electric Fuel Pump Kit. CLICK HERE to read more about the details and benefits of this pump. The filter uses the same 1/4 inch NPT fittings so it can be attached directly to the inlet port of the pump as shown. When mounted under the rear of the car you can easily reach under and unscrew the bowl to clean. If you want something that will last forever this is it!

The two holes in the top of the filter head can be tapped out to accept short bolts. Then you can mount the filter to an aluminum bracket as shown below:

When using this filter, keep in mind that it is very effective and you should take it apart and clean it every 10,000 to 15,000 miles depending on the type of fuel you are using. At the first sign of power loss, clamp off the inlet hose going to the filter, remove the bowl and clean the screen. Here you can see how effective it performs on a car running waste vegetable oil.

If you have purchased one of our all metal diesel prefilters the day may come when you need spare parts to service or repair your old filter. This kit includes the following:
