PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: Due to the nature of its chemical characteristics Viton can be a little tempermental. It holds up well to the harsh combination of heat and biodesel, but does not handle high fuel pressures and abuse as well as the standard braided injector return hose. We have sold hundreds of these kits and 1 or 2 customers in 100 have had problems with this hose - both from splitting and from coming off the injector nipple while driving. Our tests have shown that this can be the result of any of the following:
- Too high injector release pressure. Pressures should be set below 2000 psi
- Malfunctioning pressure relief valve at the injection pump
- Damaged injector nipples
- Viton hose improperly cut or improperly installed
- Partially plugged factory return fuel line
- Improperly heated SVO
- SVO conversion hose routing that creates too much back pressure
Because we can not control how an SVO conversion is installed and/or operated we no longer recommend Viton for SVO/WVO fuels. We will not guarantee this product if you are running your engine on SVO or any blend.
If this just sounds like too much to deal with then do not order Viton. Even if you are running biodiesel you can continue to use the braided hose, but you should change it every 12 months as a preventative measure. If you know your engine is healthy and properly tuned and desire the durability of Viton then by all means order some. I run this hose on all four of my diesels and have not had any issues. We want you to understand the issues and possible challenges you may face BEFORE you order this product.
Specially sized viton injector return hose that fits its all 115, 116, 123, 126, 201 and 124 4, 5 and 6 cylinder diesels between 1969 and 1995. This includes the 220D, 240D, 300D, 300CD, 300TD, 300SD, 300SDL 350SDL and 190D. We sell it in a kit with a 50 inch length which is adequate for up to 6 cylinder engines. CAUTION: You must cut this hose to proper lengths or you could end up short. Do not copy the lengths of your old hoses. Cut instructions are included. The size is slightly smaller than 4mm in diameter for extra tight fit on injector nipples.
