Wiper Speeds at Combination Switch are backwards

Re: '82 300SD (new car for me). The first wiper position on the combo switch gives fast wiper speed, the second normal speed, and the third does nothing at all. I think the proper order is intermittent, then normal, then fast. Everything else on combo switch works fine. Should I get a new switch? How to I remove it to troubleshoot and/or replace? Need instructions. Thanks!

I have not seen that happen before. Sounds like wiring has gotten switched. Check the wiring plug under the dash. Check the wiring plug at the wiper motor. Look for signs the plug cover is cracked or that it came off and was put back on with the wires plugged in incorrectly. I have a good used 300SD switch and stalked assembly I could sell you if you wanted to start there. Almost impossible to troubleshoot this type of problem via email. Good luck.. Kent
