Engine swap 83 300SD into 84 240D

240D locked up motor. Found a 83sd motor/trans with 210,000 complete. How hard would the swap be? Have a good 85dt for parts, radiator, hoses etc. but odo says 365,000, motor doesn't sound good enough for swap? Body going to scrap yard.

The 300SD tranny will fit but speedo won't work (uses electronic pickup). You will need the motor mount arms off your 85 300D engine as well as oil cooler lines and oil cooler housing (300SD using electronic oil pressure sensor). You will need radiator, cooler, exhaust system, and driveline off your 85 300D. Sounds like you have all the parts. Not hard - just time consumming....
