Will not power past 75 mph! Slight loss of power uphill.

Hello, I have a 1984 300sd with 230,000 miles. Did alot of work to it, thanks to Mercedes Source. Anyway, did valve adjustment, compression test (pressure max out close to 400). Changed injector nozzles to Bosios. Engine does not knock and is a bit smoother and responsive. Problem: pedal to the floor on highway and will not get past 75 mph?! Sometimes loss of power up hill. Have not changed the fuel lines from the tank. Is this the possible culprit? Thanks, RP. Ah haa!! The vaccuum tube going to the alda had deteriated at the alda metal-connection. Put new tubing on, and away we go!! It sure is nice when a problem can be solved with ease. Normally, it is not like that. Happy trails, thanks everyone!! RP. :)

1985 300D 300K Bosios 1982 240D 190K 1997 Dodge Cummins 300 hp 22 mpg! I'd make sure your throttle rods are adjusted properly and the pedal is unrestricted so that the pump can go to full output. Diesels need air and fuel. Clean filters air and fuel of course. If everything is good then it's a check from the tank screen and the lines etc to the lift pump, the ALDA setup with a check of turbo boost etc.

Seems like when it rains it pours. Whole bunch of owners are haviing similar power related problems. Some answers I gave in other recent posts my help. Bosios? You might start there....In my past life I use to play around with Alfa Romeo and Fiat sports cars. Can any good long-lasting mechanical product come out of Italy?

Over the years I've had that problem when my fuel filters needed changing, especially the uphill slowness. Hope this is it. Steve Morris 83 300SD 82,000 85 300DT 188,000 Sweetwater, TN
