DEFINITION: Our DTC 100 (Dual Tank Conversion) upgrade for TWX (temperate weather climate) is your best solution if you only operate in temperatures where it seldom gets below freezing and you want an easy to install and less expensive system. I call this a SHORT Upgrade kit because we do NOT include everything you need to convert to dual tanks and it is only an UPGRADE to our STC conversions 100, 1000 and 2000). IT IS NOT a complete kit by itself and it does not include everything you will need to upgrade. There are only a few items you will have to obtain on your own. We deliberately leave out the fuel source switching valve, the second fuel tank, and dash mount switches because we have found most users want to customize their installation anyway. We also do not include hose clamps, standard mounting hardware, and common electrical wire because many already have or have ready access to them. This will save money and allow you to get exactly what you want. Most of the other items you need to purchase (see detailed list below) are available at your local auto parts and hardware stores. The rest are available online and we will include recommendations and links to applicable web sites in our instruction manual. We also do not include the required copper coil heater from the FM 100 filter. Some may have already purchased that upgrade and it does come standard with our STC 2000 kit.
INTRODUCTION: For those of you who want dual tank operations for cold weather driving we offer the DTC 200 (Dual Tank Conversion) upgrade for our STC 100 SVO conversion kit. PLEASE NOTE: This kit is only available to those who have or are buying one of our standard kits. It can be purchased at the same time or added later if and when you decide you want dual tanks . This upgrade kit can be mounted or adapted to any Mercedes diesel 115, 123, 116, 126, 201 or 124 chassis sedan or coupe. If you have a wagon additional brackets and instructions are required and custom built to order for an additional charge. For all diesel sedans and coupes complete instructions are included to help you build and install the kit yourself. Please keep in mind you have to purchase some parts and hardware on your own to complete the installation. A build list is included as well as recommendations on where to purchase the items you need.
DTC 100 UPGRADE PERFORMANCE. I consider our DTC 100 (Dual Tank Conversion) a compromise. I sometimes call it our tank and a half system. It does provide the second fuel tank which allows you to purge your system of SVO at shut-down, run on straight diesel when it really gets cold, and provides a redundant (back up) fuel system should you have problems with the SVO fuel system (most often plugged filters). It also provides for a larger tank outlet and electric ONLY sump heater in the spare tire well and a special length of larger 3/8 diameter fuel hose (biodiesel grade)to run from the trunk to the engine. These three together will really help move the cold SVO up the engine. What is DOES NOT provide is a heated fuel path or coolant sump heat option which are necessary for running on full SVO in really cold weather. If you feel you need that option then order the DTC 200 CWX instead. I do consider the DTC 100 a good compromise if you don't live in a really cold climate, don't mind blending diesel with your SVO, and desire a less expensive and easier to install dual tank conversion upgrade.
ASSEMBLY IS REQUIRED: This is a builders kit and requires assembly on your part. You will have to assemble the sump heater with the parts and sealant supplied using a pipe and a large crescent wrench. A bench vise is preferred but not required. After assembly you will have to wire the sump heater from the engine compartment to the sump inside the spare tire well. You will need a hole saw to cut through the side of the spare tire well. If you dont have one we offer an inexpensive hole saw kit for your convenience.

Inexpensive hole saw kit necessary
Once the sump is mounted you will have to route and connect hoses and wires under the car as outlined in detail in the instructions. And finally, you will have to set up your second tank in the trunk, mount the switching valve in the engine compartment, mount your dash switch(es) and make final connections before initial bleeding and startup.

OPTIONAL COLD WEATHER (CWX) UPRAGE
Also highly recommend but not included: Copper coil heater for main SVO fuel filter. This will help prevent the filter from waxing closed in below freezing weather. As mentioned previously we do not automatically include this in the DTC 100 kit as some many already have this upgrade (comes standard on the STC 2000). CLICK HERE to add to your order.
