1982 stored 10 years hard to start

I'm trying to get a 300 d started that has been in storage in a garage for 10 years. It will crank but will not hit. I have replaced both fuel filters and primed it to the injectors. Still not starting. Any ideas?

Air Pressure is what you need to get it started now

I have seen this before. What seems to happen is that the rings have relaxed and are not making good contact with the cylinder walls. And of course, you can not get enough good compression for a start.

Be sure and have a well charged battery and do not crank for more than 30 continuous seconds without waiting five minutes to cool down the starter. Then try again.

What will make it start is air pressure. Hook up a vacuum cleaner or shop vac to BLOW into the air cleaner inlet while you crank the engine. It should not take more than two start attempts with air Pressure to get it going,

And oh yes, be sure and change all the fluids in the car. Everything! after having sat for so long

I have seen this as well I

I have seen this as well I had 300 CDT that sat for ten years, took me quite awhile to get it going, but it did eventually start. Make sure your glow plugs are all working and you could also try some diesel additive to increase the Cetane rating, that should help.
