Did my wagon have a tank strainer on the fuel tank outlet when it left the factory? It doesn't appear to have one now and from what I've found doesn't look like the pictures in the manuals I've seen. I'm going to clean the tank and was curious. There appears to be drain plug midway in the tank. Is that really what it is?
Thanks.
Matt
You are looking at it :-)
The drain plug you are looking at is the bottom of the strainer. I have a new strainer replacement kit with special tool available.

OK, I'm thoroughly confused
OK, I'm thoroughly confused now. Sorry for my ignorance Kent, but how does the strainer work? The kit that you sell looks like my drain (at least from the outside) but the fuel outlet is at the front of the tank. How does the strainer filter the fuel coming out of the tank if the strainer/drain plug and fuel outlet are separate?
Thanks for your help Kent.
A mind teaser indeed
I know that can be a little confusing. If you remove your tank strainer and look at its design very closely the light will come on... There is special baffling inside the tank that forces the fuel through the strainer and out the bottom slots to the pipe leading out of the side of the fuel tank.
I think I understand now.
I think I understand now. It was confusing because I thought the strainer and fuel outlet were an integral unit but realized that they were not when looking at my wagon. Thanks for the explanation.
