1980 300CD PRE_GLOWPLUG FUSE KEEPS BURNING

Hello I own my first MBZ and I love it. Its a 1980 300CD it needs TLC and I plan to bring up to par. Anyhow here is my question:
My pre-glowplug relay 80Amp fuse keeps burning. for no reason at all it started doing so. I have called a couple of MBZ Techs and they said mostlikely its caused by burned out Glow-Plugs or a deffective Glow Plug- relay. Tomorow I plan on verifying this, I bought a use relay and new glow plugs (pencil-type) already installed bought from this great company. If all goes well my 300CD will be back on the road. Still I will take any suggestions to help me get to the bottom of this problem.

I have written a very detailed manual on troubleshooting these types of pre-glow system problems. CLICK HERE to read the full description.

Recommendation: When you replace your glow plugs you will also need to ream the old carbon out of the holes. This is the number one reason for glow plugs failing - thus causing your fuse to blow. CLICK HERE to read a full description of this reamer and what it does.
