Description: High Quality all steel coolant-based heat exchanger. Professionally made for Mercedes Benz back in the 1980’s. New Old Stock from Mercedes Dealer. We only have a few available. Highly efficient and compact with no thermostat control. Unit is covered by thick foam insulation tube. Measures approximately 10 inches long and 2 1/2 inches in diameter. Coolant hose connections are for 5/8 ID hose. Fuel connections are for either 5/16 (8 mm) or 3/8 inch fuel hose. NOTE: you can use 3/8 inch fuel hose by leaving the plastic cover on the nipple and just cutting off the end of the plastic cap. Ruler is for reference only and is not included.
Application: This is ideal for heating SVO WVO in the engine compartment just before it enters the injection pump or as a sump heater in your spare tire well to heat fuel as it comes out of the fuel tank. It is also a must-have if you run on biodiesel in very cold climates. Some types of biodiesel will actually gel up in cold temperatures before straight vegetable oil will. This will work in ALL diesel vehicles.
Installation: 16 high quality European hose clamps (no-cut) are included as shown. Plastic T fittings and reducers are also included. Reducers will take the coolant hose down to 1/2 ID. You will need to obtain 1/2 inch coolant hose to connect to your heater hoses coming off your engine. Mounting can be anywhere with zip ties or plumbers metal straps. If you need biodiesel spec fuel hose we carry that in different lengths in both 5/16 and 3/8. NOTE ON INSTRUCTIONS: An instruction tip and suggestion sheet is included. Complete instructions for every installation possibility are NOT INCLUDED. You will need a little imagination and ingenuity to install in your particular vehicle for the use intended.
