On average how many miles should I be getting before an fm-100 filter change ?
Thanks

Average life span depends totally on fuel quality

Hi Rob, Our experience has shown that average filter life span runs from 3,000 to 10,000 miles based SOLELY on the quality of fuel you pick up, how long you let it settle, and how well you filter it before putting it in the fuel tank. We have seen filters only last 500 miles when contaminated WVO is dumped into the tank.

I always change my filter at every oil change and never have any problems. Filters are cheap and frequent replacement can save a lot of headaches and stress associated with breaking down on the road. Always carry a spare in the back of your Benz... :-)

Do you filter your own WVO? I filter the WVO in 3 stages: 25 microns, 10 microns, then 5 microns and I let it settle for two weeks, or more, before introducing to my tank. Every 6,000 miles (2 oil changes)I change all 3 fuel filters, including the FM 100. Have been running WVO exclusively for 18 months, since May 2007 without a problem.
