SVO 300TD dies while at idle in loop mode

Submitted by jrobkirby on 8 November 2008 - 5:25am.

Hello
I have single tank conversion that dies at idle in loop mode but runs fine when under acceleration.
After it dies I have to switch the valve to return and purge the system of what seems to be air then I'm fine until the next time I let it warm up at idle. It doesn't have this problem when the valve is on return. I thought it might be a filter issue but I have no loss of power when going down the road.
Thank you this forum has been a big help.

Suspect air getting into the system

I suspect there is air getting into the system from a loose connection or hose clamp or return valve (if electric). In loop mode there is no way for even the slightest amount of the air to get out. Also, inspect and clean the screen in the metal final filter. Kent

Ive tightened all the hose

Ive tightened all the hose clamps. My pre-filter before my fm-100 is getting air bubbles in it. I have a pump in the rear and have tightened all the hose clamp around that. A while back I changed my glow plug in my rear heater that could be the culprit. I cant remember from my original install, is there any epoxy or gasket material used on the heater glow plugs ?
Thanks Rob
