Mercedes Diesel Engine Injection Pump SVO Cleanable Protection Filter

This all metal cleanable 60 micron filter can be the answer for many Mercedes 220D 240D 300D 300CD 300TD 300SD / SDL and 190D diesel engine applications. Comes with 5/16 inch ( 8 mm) fittings and hose. If you are tired of always spending money to replace your plastic pre-filters then here is your answer. If you would like an inline filter when doing your diesel purges to prevent crude from re-entering the injection pump this is the ideal solution. If you need a final filter to protect your injection pump when running waste vegetable oil this is it!

Filter should be installed just before the inlet to the injection pump. Hi temp hose included is required if running heated SVO.

Our installation kit contains the following:

• 60 micron cleanable metal filter
• Two 5/16 inch ( 8 mm) brass nipple fittings for 1/4 NPT threads
• 24 inches of biodiesel spec 5/16 inch super hose
• 4 small hose clamps
• cleaning brush
• instructions

This metal filter is made in Italy. It has a quality all aluminum housing and a stainless steel mesh screen. It measures 2 and 1/4 inch in diameter and 3 inches tall. It is just the right size and micron rating to be a great prefilter for any fuel pump or diesel injection pump. It can be used to replace the existing plastic pre-filters on most diesel engines. The bowl has ridges on it for a good grip and you can turn it counterclockwise as view from the bottom to remove it.

With the bowl removed you only need to reach in and pull the screen out of the bowl for cleaning.

There are rubber seals that seal both the top and bottom of the screen housing. The bowl is sealed to the head with a large 0-ring.

The two holes in the top of the filter head can be tapped out to accept short bolts. Then you can mount the filter to an aluminum bracket as shown below:

When using this filter, keep in mind that it is very effective and you should take it apart and clean it every 10,000 to 15,000 miles depending on the type of fuel you are using. At the first sign of power loss, clamp off the inlet hose going to the filter, remove the bowl and clean the screen. Here you can see how effective it performs on a car running waste vegetable oil.
