This is a direct replacement kit for all can style axles on the 114 115 and early 123 chassis sedans, coupes and wagons. The axles are quality aftermarket OP replacement axles and seals are German Elring. Some later 123 chassis use axles that have bolted housings over the sypder joints (rather than crimped cans). See the picture below for clarification.
If your 123 does have the bolted type you can replace them with these axles but you will need to install the new seals included. Also, depending on type, you may have to find a different size bolt that holds the end of the axle into the outer hub. We are currently trying to source new bolts and washers for this application. At this time I have a number of good used hub bolts for the can style axles. If you have the bolted axle type remove the center bolt in the center of the outer hub and email us dimensions and we can confirm whether or not you will need different bolts.
Shown below are the axle ends that go into the sides of the center differential Axle on left has bolted sypder cover as shown. Axle on right is the crimped can type. NOTE: You can see the difference in the area of the shaft seal (thus the need for different type seals which are included).

If you are planning to change one or both of your rear axles we recommend replacing the following when the axles out. This can save you a lot of time later. CLICK ON each of the titles below to link you to these additional parts.
- Replace the rear differential seals while the axles are out (2 required)
- Replace rear differential center rubber mount if over 15 years old
- Replace rear end stabilizer links if worn
- Replace rear shocks if worn
- Replace emergency brake shoes
- Replace flexible rubber brake hoses if over 15 years old
