NOTE: FOR 560 V8 MODELS AND 104 TWIN CAM ENGINES YOU ***MUST*** MAKE A SPECIAL ADAPTER. WE USE TO SELL BUT CURRENTLY WE DO NOT HAVE ANY AND MAY NOT GET ANY MORE - CLICK HERE to see what you will need as an adapter line.

By changing the gauge and using the enclosed nozzle adapter o-rings you can check the release pressure and spray pattern of CIS injectors. It will not accurately measure quantity of fuel delivered nor the release balance between the injectors as do the big commercial test units. With a little practice you can get a "feel" for balance by quickly testing all injectors one right after another and analyzing spray patterns. CIS injectors are spraying all the time in your engine. There is no way you can get this hand pump to spray continuously, but by pumping rapidly and can get a fairly good idea just how well each injector is atomizing the fuel.

This means the testing procedure is not an exact science. There is no pop or pressure release like you have in a diesel fuel injector. There is not way to adjust, take them apart or repair them. If they are gummed up they can be cleaned by soaking in carb cleaner or sending out to a shop that does ultrasonic cleaning.

The kit comes with the following:

  • New 200 psi gauge
  • 2 small 0-rings
  • Thread sealant for new gauge
  • Complete illustrated instructions

WARNING: Testing is done with clean filtered diesel fuel - NOT GASOLINE! Trying to do this with gasoline can create an extreme fire or explosion hazard! Even when using diesel fuel testing should be done outside or in an exhaust booth using a quality spray paint respirator.

The best way to test is by comparison. That means you pump test a known good injector and then compare it with the spray pattern or patterns of the other injectors you want to test. Look at the superb atomization of the fuel coming out of a new injector!
