I have known for years that many people would rather look at pictures than read text - especially when it comes to technical instructions. In the spring of 2010 I came up with a new format that I have chosen to call image-by-image instructions. This is a play on "step-by-step" since I include an image for every step. There is still text related to each image, but it has been reduced to the bare minimum. in some cases bullet phrases are used to make my point. This approach means lots of picture taking and more pages to print, but I believe you will appreciate the results.
I hope you enjoy this new format. Current repair kits being sold that include these new image-by-image instructions are:

For most models with self leveling suspension from 1977 to 1991
This is the most complete SLS (self leveling suspension) pump overhaul kit on the market today. Not only does it come with all the correct seals and gaskets, but it includes two special tools and complete step-by-step pictorial instructions to help you successfully complete the job in record time. We even throw in the correct gasket sealant!
Why would you need to overhaul your pump? If your shaft seal is damaged the pump could be leaking hydraulic fluid into your engine... not good! Internal o-rings lose their seal thus reducing pump pressure. All these pumps are now 20 plus years or older. They all need inspecting and resealing if they have never been opened up previously.
For 1981 to 1984 Turbo transmissions only - Other models coming soon.
This is the most complete front reseal kit on the market today. It includes Kents new IMAGE-BY-IMAGE instructions. That means there is an image for every single step in the operation of replacing these 2 (Yes there are 2!) critical front seals. This information is not available in any other manual anywhere. For a lasting leak repair both the torque converter lip seal and the pump o-ring seal should be changed. If your transmission is leaking and you think all you need to do is replace the torque converter seal - you may be doing the job again soon!
This complete kit Includes the following:
I have been discovering this is one of those maintenance areas that suffers from severe neglect. Failure of the rubber support or center drive shaft bearing can cause all types of improperly diagnosed vibration problems - some commonly change with vehicle speed. Inspect your center bearing carrier today for any tears in the rubber. The only way you can properly check the bearing is to remove the driveline far enough to spin the bearing and check for side play. If it has been more than 120,000 miles or 15 years since these have been replaced just do it before failure.
ALWAYS replace the drive shaft center bearing when replacing the rubber mount carrier. The rubber seems to always go first. The bearing may seem ok but it is easy to stress or damage an old bearing when removing and replacing a bearing carrier. The bearing is cheap, and you don't want to be doing this job anytime again soon!
