Successful Repair Stories

Everyone loves success stories. We can all learn from them and they just make us feel good... We have created this new home page link to share with you recent success stories from work we have done on our own cars as well as stories we have received from our customers. If you have a good success story send it to us along with a couple pictures and we will post if appropriate.

Success Story #1.

Problem: Sagging 300TD wagon rear end fixed!  This one happened on Kaia's ride so you can see she is really excited about it. What may make this one particularly interesting to other wagon owners is that this repair was done for less than $100 and did not require the replacement of VERY EXPENSIVE struts and leveling valves that could have been replaced with a missed diagnosis. Symptoms before repair were sagging rear end that would never really fully come up to level and a mushy feel in the rear end ride.

Solution: Removed the hydraulic pump and reseal it. Internal o-rings had shrunk and hardened leading to internal pump pressure loss. Repair kit cost was $59.95 and repair was done in less than 2 hours. Rear end of the wagon raised up a full 2 inches.. YES - 2 INCHES. Talk about one happy camper.... even Kaia's dog is estatic!

Success Story #2.

Problem: Transmission on 300SDL will not upshift!  This one happened on Kent's newly acquired 6 cylinder diesel. After a complete transmission service that included new filter and new modulator the transmission will now not shift out of first gear. He was able get it to shift up if he put the shifter in neutral then immediately back in gear while driving, but the shift was very abrupt and no matter what he does it will not go into fourth gear at all. Talk about bad Karma! Kent was all bummed out until he sought the wisdom of the lemon head.

Solution: The solution was discovered to be something quite simple. The answer is on one of his videos. If you are interested in finding out what it was, click on the tech help link on the top of the page and then click on video instructions. He is pretty happy now!
