They have a super sticky tape of the foot of the tie so you can stick them anywhere in your engine compartment without having to drill a hole in the inner fender panel. (NOTE: Be sure to thoroughly clean the surface BEFORE installing). The other neat thing is that these zip ties can be loosened back up (just like the factory type) to remove the wire bundle or anything else you need to secure. Sold in packs of 6. This is the tool I love to use when troubleshooting engine operating temperature problems. You can stand back and aim the beam right on a spot on the radiator or engine to get an exact temperature reading. This can indicate whether or not your radiator is plugged and confirm if your temperature gauge is accurate or not.

If you are running SVO it can give you accurate readings of the temperature of your oil - both during filtering and coming out of your boost heater.

This size freeze plug fits almost all gas and diesel engines from the early 70s up into the 90s. This includes all 61x and 60x diesel engines, the 103 gas engine in the 190E, 300SE and 300E. It also fits many V8 engines but you should measure your current plug to be sure. This part measures 34 mm in diameter.

We are seeing more freeze plugs rust out from the inside as these engines age. First sign will be a little rust ring around the outside edge of the plug, next sign will be slight coolant loss, and last sign may be catasropic engine over heat. Check your freeze plugs for any sign of deterioration NOW.

Complete R134a retrofit kit as shown to convert your A/C system.  Keep in mind this may not repair all problems with your current A/C system. This kit is designed to go into a good working system. This is one cool pre or final protection fuel filter. I have been looking for something like this for a long time. Running badly means poor performance. It happens sooner or later to EVERY diesel owner. The word "performance" is often used to describe how well a diesel engine runs once started. The principles discussed will cover all Mercedes diesels from the mid 1950s to the mid 1990s. Throughout this manual I will use this word to discuss a number of common problems. How performance is rated can mean different things to different people. In the following pages I will relate diesel performance to the following four criteria:

• How much power does it produce?
• What kind of fuel economy does it deliver?
• How smooth does the engine run?
• How much does the engine smoke?

These thin shim washers can be added to an existing injector shim to meet the thickness required to increase release pressure. Buy using a thicker shim along with 1 to 3 thin shims you will be able to make a number of different thicknesses within the 0,20 mm range. This kit contains six each of thin 0,20 mm washers.

One of the more challenging aspects of adjusting the release pressures on your diesel fuel injectors is finding the exact thickness shim washer you need to make the proper spring pressure adjustment. If you try to do it with just one shim per injector you end up needing a large assortment of all sizes of shims ranging from 0,80 mm to 1,95 mm. And knowing Murphy’s law all too well, you will end up needing the shim size that you do not have.

You are looking at the worlds first production diesel mechanical fuel injector bench tester available in the U.S. for under $200. These are built in Mercedessources own shop to control quality and production demands. This bench mount tester will allow you to economically test the spray pattern and fine tune (balance) your fuel injectors at home. With the injector fitting included it will work on all Mercedes diesels from the early 1960's up to 1993. It will also work on any mechanical Bosch type fuel injector with adjustable pressure release function - altough you may have to come up with your own adapter to attach the injector to the tester. If you plan to change coolant hoses this is a must have labor saving tool. This is one cleverly designed tool. Could not have done it better myself. I actually use to make a couple different types before I found this one. If you have ever tried to remove a radiator hose corroded to an aluminum housing you know what I am talking about and you will love this tool. Great when changing radiator hoses, especially the short hose. 8 inches in length.

It will get those stuck radiator hoses loose and off in seconds...

I like this - permanent - threadlocker because it is super strong but can still be removed with a heavy handed breaker bar. This is a very large bottle for the price and is a must have for Mercedes diesel owners. I use it anytime I am doing major repair work on an engine or transmission. Great for front crank bolt, cam bolt, torque converter bolts, injection pump mounting nuts, front engine accessories, brake caliper bolts, front suspension, etc. Anything that you can just not afford to come loose.

This removable thread locker is probably the best that I have used. It has the best sealing cap and cures rapidly and reliably when confined between metal parts. Use it to lock threaded fasteners, nuts, bolts and screws from loosening. Extremely important in critical engine and suspension parts. This is the removable type (meaning that it can be easily removed with hand tools). Comes in small .20 Fl oz. bottle great for most small jobs.

This permanent thread locker is probably the best that I have used. It has the best sealing cap and dries hard in 20 to 60 minutes. Use it to securely lock threaded fasteners, nuts, bolts and screws from loosening. Extremely important in critical engine and suspension parts. This is the permanent type (meaning that it is possible to remove only when applying heat to 450 degress F - with propane torch) or a very heavy breaker bar. I like to use this one on brake caliper bolts as it is such a critical bolt.

Excellent when retaining bearings and bearing races, freeze plugs, rocker arm and main bearing studs, etc. Can fill gaps up to .007 and assures positive controlled locking.

I like to use plastic inline filters to monitor the flow and quality of the fuel (yes you can even check for air in the system). The filters that have proven best for this application are Mercedes diesel pre-filters with brass insert ends for greater strength at the nipples. These filters do the job but are only available for 5/16 or 8 mm fuel hose. I have solved that problem by adding an alcohol resistant and very tight hose spacer on the end of each nipple. This in effect will allow you to use 3/8 inch fuel hose without deforming the hose or allowing leakage. These filters have the 90 degree nipple to allow you to fit it into tighter places.
