This new shift knob fits all 4 speed diesel transmissions from 1969 to 1983. It is an aftermarket replacement that is made out of hard plastic rather than rubber, so it will not deteriorate like the original style. Good quality at a good price!

Fits all these chassis from 1968 to 1985. For drain bolt on automatic transmission torque converter. For a complete transmission flush the torque converter must be drained separately. Good to have a new aluminum sealing washer on hand during the service. 

I like this - permanent - threadlocker because it is super strong but can still be removed with a heavy handed breaker bar. This is a very large bottle for the price and is a must have for Mercedes diesel owners. I use it anytime I am doing major repair work on an engine or transmission. Great for front crank bolt, cam bolt, torque converter bolts, injection pump mounting nuts, front engine accessories, brake caliper bolts, front suspension, etc. Anything that you can just not afford to come loose.

This removable thread locker is probably the best that I have used. It has the best sealing cap and cures rapidly and reliably when confined between metal parts. Use it to lock threaded fasteners, nuts, bolts and screws from loosening. Extremely important in critical engine and suspension parts. This is the removable type (meaning that it can be easily removed with hand tools). Comes in small .20 Fl oz. bottle great for most small jobs.

This permanent thread locker is probably the best that I have used. It has the best sealing cap and dries hard in 20 to 60 minutes. Use it to securely lock threaded fasteners, nuts, bolts and screws from loosening. Extremely important in critical engine and suspension parts. This is the permanent type (meaning that it is possible to remove only when applying heat to 450 degress F - with propane torch) or a very heavy breaker bar. I like to use this one on brake caliper bolts as it is such a critical bolt.

Excellent when retaining bearings and bearing races, freeze plugs, rocker arm and main bearing studs, etc. Can fill gaps up to .007 and assures positive controlled locking.

Here is an inexpensive set of cleaning brushes that really get down in the crevices. The plastic one is good for exterior cleaning around the window and body trim. The brass is good for cleaning engine parts you don't want to scratech. The steel one is excellent if you are doing some rust repair.

If you are going to work on your diesel fuel injectors you are going to need a torque wrench. If you are going to tighten your alloy wheel lug bolts properly you should use a torque wrench. In fact if you do your own work you should have a 1/2 inch clicker torque wrench in your tool box. I know why you don't have one. They tend to be expensive for the limited amount you might use one. Well, now you can get a quality one for a very good price. This is a special offer and we only have a limited number in stock.

It comes with a nice moulded plastic case and instructions. This wrench is 18 inches long for good hand torque and it is made in Taiwan. Much better quality than those made in China.

 

This is that little vacuum valve that always gets it nipples broken off... It is located right behind your thermostat housing on the 1981 to 1985 turbo diesel engines. It controls vacuum going to your EGR valve. When it breaks it will effect the operation of the EGR and it may make your transmission shift hard. This is a genuine OE part.

If you plan to do much work on your Mercedes these metric wrenches and sockets are very desireable - if not a necessity. If you have wanted to add to your tool box but not spend a lot of money here is your chance. These are not Snap On quality wrenches but if you only work on cars ocassionally these are more than adequate to get the job done. Long drive pin punches are very handy when working on your Benz. The smaller size in this set is particularly helpful when removing and replacing twin pin style brake pads. All steel. Made in India.

Good used set of metal hardlines from transmission to radiator oil cooler. These lines are not rusted nor are they chaffed as can be very common with these transmission cooler lines. Sold with flexible lines attatched, but those may need replacing.

Brand new Genuine OEM turbo diesel kickdown switch. Fits 123 turbos from 1982-1985 and 126 turbos from 1981-1985. This switch is located under your accelerator pedal, and it tells the transmission when to down shift. If the switch breaks it can stick in or on! If your turbo diesel is having a hard time shifting down or into 3rd or 4th gear definately inspect and or replace this switch.

Excellent used proportional valve for controling vacuum to your transmission for proper shifts. This plastic unit was used on 123 and 126 chassis turbo diesels from 1981-1984. Some California models used a different unit. This is a good used unit if you are having problems with improper shift in your 300D or 300SD turbo transmission this could be the culprit.

This guide is written specifically for owners of 123 and 126 diesels up to 1985. There are some sections that apply to the 115 and 116 chassis but it is not specific to those models. This manual covers understanding how the vacuum system works, common symptoms of trouble, possible causes, and testing and repairing the problems. Deals mostly with issues from the firewall forward like testing the vacuum pump, repairing shutoff problems, finding leaks, etc.

This is that hard to find plastic inspection / access cover that goes on the underside of your 617 turbo diesel engine.  Most of the time it is cracked or missing alowing dirt and oil to get into the flywheel area. Easy remove and replace.  It just snaps in the hole. Fits 1981 to 1985 300TD and 300SD, 1982 to 1985 300D and 300CD.

This is a great upgrade that fits most models from early 70s up to mid to late 90s. The wire protector on these hoses will prevent chaffing especially from loose V belts. If your transmission oil cooler hoses are original then I would recommend you change them. They can actually rot internally and start weeping oil through the hose cover! You do not want to lose your transmission fluid while driving at freeway speeds... it can be costly. You get a set of two new hoses.

Mercedes use a lot of Metric Allen Head bolts especially on their engines. If you are going to work on them yourself one of the first things you will need is a good assortment. Start with a 3/8 inch drive socket set as shown. These are inexpensive but well made sockets from China - most common sizes 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 10 mm. They can be cut and modified for special applications.

This special vacuum switching valve is found on most Mercedes diesels from 1980 to 1985. 240D, 300D, 300CD, 300TD and 300SD. Some 85 models do not use this type of valve. On most turbo diesel engines there are two of these located under the black plastic cover on the center top of the valve cover. Most of the time you will find the lever arms worn off. Others may be full of vacuum leaks due to heat and age.

These valves control important functions related to the EGR valve and the automatic transmission. If yours look aged or worn I would recommend you replace them

We have solved the problem of trying to obtain the correct 240D hydraulic clutch master cylinder (located above your clutch pedal). There was a change in the design in mid production. If not careful when ordering you can end up getting the wrong part. If you don't compare it with your old unit it is easy to mistakingly install and you will end up with your clutch not working properly. It just so happens that the cylinder itself is the same for all models, but that the length of the rod was what was changed.

To solve this problem we ship the MASTER cylinder with BOTH rods so you can be sure it will work in your 240D. Just make sure you measure your old rod so you can install the correct new one.

This part controls the function of your backup lights as well as the starter motor lock-out if you do not have the transmission selector in park or neutral. It is called the neutral safety switch and fits all 107, 114, 115, 116 and 123 chassis to 1981 (except 81 Turbo wagon). If you are having problems with your back up lights or starter motor not engaging this part could be the problem. THIS IS AN IMPORTANT MERCEDESSOURCE MAINTENANCE ALERT

In previous years I have had a number of Mercedes diesels come in to my shop with severe damage due to total driveline flex disk failure. Read or weep!

Fits 115 and 123 220D and 240D with 4 speed manual transmission. If your shifter feels loose or spongy or even clanks when you shift it is time for new bushings. There are six total. 3 large rubber bushings on the transmission arms and 3 plastic nylon bushing for the shift lever arms.

The new style rubber bushings replace the old bushings with the metal ring. You will have to drive the old metal ring out of the large hole on each transmission shift arm. Once the ring is out you can push in the new all rubber bushing. This new style will take more abuse and last longer than the original
