PLEASE NOTE: This is not a complete manual that covers every part of every model. It covers some of the issues in detail mentioned below but not ALL. It does have a lot of good maintenance and service procedures. Pages are fading due to aging. There aren’t too many grease prints except for the first couple pages. Only one or two of the blue tabs have a chip in them. Again the blue tab sheets are a little more dirty than the pages. The pages are 2 3/4 inch. This is a thick manual.

General technical data

Production Date January 1975: This is not a complete factory manual but covers a number of key repair issues for the 115 engine including the carburetor.

Pages have slight aging fading on the edges of the pages. Very minimal finger prints on the pages themselves. Manual pages in total are about 3/4 inch thick.

This kit will include the parts and detailed instructions you will need to repair a front transmission case leak in your 1968 to 1983 NON TURBO diesel automatic. From my experience, one of the biggest leak problems comes from the large o-ring that seals the high pressure pump inside the transmission. This o-ring hardens with age and will leak profusely. You might think the leak is just coming from the front torque converter lip seal, but don’t be fooled. If you just replace that small round seal and think you have solved your leak problem, you may end up having to remove the transmission again! Any time you are repairing a front transmission seal leak, ALWAYS replace the pump o-ring as well as the torque converter lip seal. No instructions are included for the rear output shaft seal. That seal can be replaced with the transmission in the car, but will require a special nut removal tool.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The transmission must be removed to replace the front seals. No instructions are included for transmission removal. If you are not familiar with removing and replacing a diesel automatic transmission

This is a much larger manual than the parts reference book that is part of the owners handbook packet. This measures 12" x 8" by about 3/8 inch thick and actually has the factory part numbers for each engine part.

This is a good used factory instruction card for the early cruse control operation on 107 114 115 116 123 chassis. If you are looking for an addition to your book set on your early Mercedes this originally came in the glove box to explain how to operate the cruse control stock. 

On the side with German writing there are white spots covering the writing. The English side is readable.

This set of Becker radio booklets applies to any 107 114 115 116 123 chassis that came with the Becker radio installed. This is an excellent set. I am no familiar with the 355 model radio but I believe it came in most of the mid to late 1970's chassis Mercedes factory radio. MAKE SURE THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT AS IT IS NOT RETURNABLE.
