During his years of working on diesel engines, Kent has learned a few things about glow plugs. Some he learned the easy way and others he learned by “pain and suffering.” If misunderstood or improperly maintained, glow plugs can be the “achilles heal” of a diesel. In this eBook he shares tips he has learned along with improvement upgrades you can make on your own diesel to improve pre-glow system efficiency. This manual is 14 pages in length with a total of 31 pictures and printed on 8.5x11 paper.

Book 3 explains how to properly remove and replace the glow plugs in the early diesel engines in the models noted above. This includes both series style and pencil style plugs. In most cases this is an easy DIY job but there are things you need to watch out for when doing this yourself. The easiest way to remove and replace them is covered in detail. The fuel system bleed procedure before restart is included in these instructions. Kent also explains how to keep your early pre-glow system in tip-top shape as well as some upgrades you may want to consider for better performance. 6 pages in length with a total of 19 pictures. Printed on 8.5 x 11 paper.
Applies to 1978 to 1985 300SD, 1980 to 1993 240D, 300D, 300CD and 300TD, 190D, 300SDL, 350SD and 350SDL
This book explains how a parallel pre-glow system works and how to properly test it using inexpensive electrical testing equipment. If your PENCIL style glow plugs are not working properly, you need to find the cause BEFORE you start buying parts. Testing and diagnosis is something you can do yourself. You will need a good volt - ohm meter with a basic knowledge of how to use it to successfully complete the testing. Schematic diagrams are included for reference and the location of key components is illustrated. 15 pages in length with a total of 20 pictures. Printed on 8.5x11 pages.
The newest generation of high dielectric grease has some rather amazing properties that solve a number of problems when restoring and maintaining older cars.
This black moly grease has some rather amazing properties that solve a number of problems when restoring and maintaining older cars.
We have had so many requests for turbo overhaul kits and instructions for these engines that Kent finally decided to roll up his sleeves on this one and go to work. In the past we have had difficultly getting access to the right parts and specifications on the 1986 to 1993 turbo diesel models.
The newest generation of synthetic grease has some rather amazing properties that solve a number of problems when restoring and maintaining older cars.
Anti-seize compound is an amazing product that can prevent frustrating and damaging thread seizure. Good quality copper based anti-seize is not particularly cheap and when you buy it in a larger tube or container it may take years to use it all... in fact you may never use it all. Since you only need a very small film on the threads the average DIY mechanic does not need very much on hand. We offer it in a air tight seal 1/2 ounce clear container with a screw lid and we only fill it half full! You may even find 1/4 ounce ends up being a lot!. Check out our application tool kit that has everything you need for applying compounds and greases, CLICK HERE.
It has been said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure" and so it is when working on older cars. Over the years I have seen so many component failures and other problems related to lack of lubrication that I am on a quest to rid the old car world of this malady. I see failures and problems with door check straps, window regulators, door catch assemblies, hood hinges and latches, sunroof cables, sunroof slide and lift mechanisms, door and window seals, seized spark plugs, brake problems and on it goes.
Kent started wearing protective hand gloves back in the day when only latex was readily available. When nitrile came along he was elated and has closely followed improvements in these gloves over the years. Recently he discovered what he believes is the ultimate glove when working on cars - especially old diesels! If you have watched any of his recent videos you will recognize them by the dark green color.
The advantages of these over other nitrile gloves are numerous:
Before even reading the following description on these amazing sprayers you must see Kent's video on how he uses these to detail his own cars. CLICK HERE to view video
The advantages of these bottle are numerous. When used to detail your car (especially the interior and engine compartment) you will be amazed at how much time you can save, how little fumes you will have to smell, and how nice the area will look when you are done!
Over the years Kent has seen some pretty severe problems due to lack of lubrication. We are talking about hood hinge attach bolts breaking or tearing right out of the fender well (particularly on 123 and 126 chassis). When it comes to sticking throttle linkage you can experience lack of power, poor throttle response, transmission shifting problems and even the throttle sticking wide open !!! - That can be really scary.
These curved tip syringes make ideal oilers for linkages and hinges. These important parts should be lubed every 6 months! The curved tip allows you to oil under the ball head and you can precisely place just the right amount of lube where you want it!. We even include a 6" extension tube that allows you to get to those hard to reach places.
This unique tank not only functions as an emergency fuel tank, but it can also serve to help troubleshoot diesel engine performance problems as well as complete a clean and efficient diesel purge. Carry this tank in your trunk full of two liters of diesel along with some basic tools to save the day when you have fuel problems on the open road!
The tall narrow design allows it to fit in tight locations in many engine compartments in the 116, 123, 126 and 124 chassis models ( note there is just not enough room in most 115 and 201 chassis diesels)

A better mouse trap??? This is what Kent set out to do when developing this new ultimate clamping plier. The original plan was to come up with a better tool to remove stuck spark plug wires. That goal was met, but in the process a few other important uses for this new tool were "found" along the way. This includes removing frozen fuel and heater hoses, holding bolts and nuts in awkward places to get them threaded by hand, removing corroded battery post clamps, installing flexible brake hoses, and other yet undiscovered uses.
Designed and fabricated by Kent Bergsma. The grooves in the head provide a secure clamping surface without damaging the wire boot or hose.

New high quality replacement oil sealing rings for the main shaft (front and rear) of the Garrett T3 Turbo. This will NOT fit other turbo chargers like the KKK. This is not a complete kit nor is it the only thing you should replace when opening up your turbo. This kit is for someone who has either lost or damaged his sealing rings while rebuilding his turbo. No overhaul instructions are included but Kent includes his special install o-ring and tips on how to use it.
Out of frustration Kent made this special tool to aid in the removal of stubborn fuel and vacuum hoses. This unique hand tool also works for removing interior trim clips (like those on the door seal rubber, glove box and older style door panel clips. This is something every DIY Mercedes Owner should have in his shop. If you have a good floor jack and some jack stands this kit with make jacking and supporting your Benz much safer AND less frustrating. You can build this kit yourself with a some simple tools and inexpensive supplies.
Here is a list of the tools and supplies you will need:
Fits all 116 diesel 300SD, and 123 240D 300D and 300CD and all 126 chassis diesels 300SD 300SDL 350SD/L. 1977 to 1991 (Does not fit wagons!). Wiill NOT work on 107 chassis. This is an important maintenance item that you have heard Kent talk about before. Be sure to see his video by clinking on the link below.. This screen is located in the bottom of the fuel tank and can become plugged with crud and algae and will lead to gradual power loss and eventual stalling of the engine. Many are not aware there is a filter screen in the bottom of the tank. You can change all your other filters and lines and still be perplexed as to why your engine is starving for fuel. Located just above the right rear axle shaft. But it is not easy to get out without the right tool!!
Good used vacuum pump. Cleaned and inspected. New diaphragm and check valves installed. Comes with instruction sheet, gasket and gasket sealant.
WARNING: This vacuum pump ONLY fits those models listed, but make sure your pump is exactly the same. (two parallel line connections on the cap). Some cars have never engines installed so check before ordering. Not returnable if ordered in error.

This product is amazing. It can be used to secure all kinds of things to all kinds of surfaces. Be sure and check out Kent's video showing how he uses in on his cars as well as in and around the shop. For the self stick stuff Kent prefers the actual Velcro Brand.
This kit contains the following:
Complete valve stem seal set for the 603 engine.
50 amp fuses were used on most 123 240D diesel glow plug systems due to the lower amp draw. 80 amp fuses will also work but some may choose to go with original spec. Check the number on the center of the fuse you are currently using. It should read either 50 or 80.
