I want to replace serpentine belt on "93 300D. 1. How do I release tension on belt? 2. Does fan shroud need to be removed? Thank you for advice, Luther
1992 300D 2.5 Turbo Diesel Look at the front of your moter, it looks like you have 2 moter shocks. The one on the left is the moter shock, the one on the right is the belt tensioner. Take out the bolt that holds the top of the tensioner on, there is a place to put the end of your tire iron in to relieve the tension when you take the bolt out, you wont have to take it all the way out. Once you relieve the tension you should be able to get belt around the fan.
