Here is another diesel item I strongly believe should be replaced as a preventative measure. Water pumps do not last forever and when they go, it is usually when you are on a trip - right? I feel they should be changed every 100,000 miles. It is a relatively inexpensive part and ON MOST MODELS a job suited for the do-it-yourselfer. Instructions for removing and replacing the water pump are included.
