Published in August of 2019, this has been one of the most requested videos over the past two previous years.
This price is for TWO nuts as shown. If you find you can not accurately adjust one of your older diesel engine valve clearances it usually means the threads on the lower adjusting nut are stripped. New ones are getting harder to find so we are offering good used as an alternative.
Please, what you see is exactly what will receive. These are mostly from OM616 and OM617 diesel engines and related transmissions and may NOT all be from the same vintage or chassis model. Study the picture carefully. Only one exactly like this.

Good used motor mount arms as shown. Good bolt threads. No galling or cross threading. Only one set is available. Will need some cleaning when you get them.
If you have worked on 5-cylinder 617 turbo diesel cylinder heads before you already know how important it is to have the correct socket for the star cylinder head bolts. This socket is a must to properly remove and re-torque those bolts.
UPS ground shipping only. Can not be shipped internationally. Rather than try to explain what this kit does and how it does it we are going to ask you to watch the video below if you have not already done so.
These might be needed when replacing the engine head or aluminum water pump housing. This includes the water pump bypass tube and the two small banjo bolts for the tube along with aluminum sealing rings.
This is the very best hose Kent has found to use to install spark plugs in restricted spaces. Watch the video below and he will demonstrate.
For later 240D 300D 300CD 300TD 300SD Models. Most after 1980 BUT YOU MUST LOOK AT YOUR PUMP BEFORE ORDERING! WATCH KENT'S VIDEO BELOW. You have asked for it and we have delivered again.
The seal in this kit is out of production. Only small quantity left. For EARLY 240D 300D 300CD 300TD and W116 300SD Models. Usually up to 1980 BUT YOU MUST LOOK AT YOUR PUMP BEFORE ORDERING! WATCH KENT'S VIDEO BELOW. You have asked for it and we have delivered again.
Good used bolt set with good hex heads.
Here is the location of these five important bolts. Do not use the cheap paper gasket in most gasket kits for the oil filter housing. It will leak!!!!
The motor mount shield may not be the exact one shown. It may be painted or original. No cracks. Not perfect but very usable. If you leave this off your rubber mount will fail much quicker.
Kent finally went to work to solve the problem of rusty water pump mounting bolts. Once the problem was studied carefully the solution became obvious. Watch the video for a full explanation and partial instructions below.
Kit contents:
Good used working EGR valve. HARD TO FIND. The valve opens and closes properly and holds a strong vacuum. Hard to find. Failure of this unit can cause excess smoke, poor idle, and/or rough shifting. Check to see if yours holds vacuum. Easy to replace.
Keeping your throttle linkage ball sockets and pivot points lubricated extends the life of the parts and maintains top performance for the engine as well as some of the later transmissions.
A good used manifold as shown.
For a number of maintenance operations, you need to be able to turn the engine over by hand. This includes valve adjustment, timing chain replacement, injection pump timing on diesel engines, checking and setting internal engine timing, draining the torque converter, and others.
This is the part that more often than not gets lost when the SLS pump is removed from an engine for a long period of time. If you are trying to return the system to original after someone has removed the pump you most likely will need this part.
This video will take all the "mystery" away... For all W116, W123, and W126 Turbo Diesel 5
This is a BIG problem! Failure to fix it can shorten engine life by allowing dirt to enter the combustion chambers thus damaging the piston rings which lead to low compression, poor fuel economy, hard starting, high oil consumption and loss of power.
UPS GROUND ONLY: This is the best spray can paint Kent has found to detail the semi-gloss black parts on your Benz. It is not easy to find a good spray can paint!
2 large style clamps to be used on upper and lower radiator hoses. Use these to replace your thermostat or water pump without having to drain all your coolant out of the radiator. Works on medium size coolant hoses also.
Connect this small filter with attached hoses to the back of the injection pump and to the brown plastic vacuum line going to your ignition switch under the dash. The filter will do two things. 1. Help to trap oil coming out of a leaking shutoff valve before it gets to your ignition switch. 2.
PLEASE NOTE: WILL NOT WORK ON W116 1978-1980 300SD MOTOR MOUNT ARMS!!!
PLEASE NOTE: DOES NOT FIT 1978-1980 W116 300SD Motor Mount Arms!
Excellent used injection pump timing device, good sprocket teeth, good drive splines and gears, good springs and good vacuum pump cam plate.
Good used straight tubing as shown. NO DENTS! The OLD Seals and o-rings may or may NOT be included. You will need to order new seals if you don't already have them. See related products below.
This is a very good set of four used special bolts that have good undamaged hex heads.
Good used set of studs for the valve cover as shown.
One used bolt as shown in very good condition. May need cleaning for show
Want to try to make your car's engine and engine compartment look like it just came off the showroom? Would you like detailed information on the chemicals, brushes, tools, and procedures Kent uses to get his engine compartments looking so nice?
Instructions to complete a diesel system purge. Does not include instructions on changing the filter
Lubro Moly Diesel hi test fuel additive that does far more than just add lubrication to the fuel. Formulated for the new low sulfur diesel fuel. Contains an additive against injection pump and injector wear.
During his years of working on diesel engines, Kent has learned a few things about glow plugs. Some he learned the easy way and others he learned by “pain and suffering.” If misunderstood or improperly maintained, glow plugs can be the “achilles heal” of a diesel.
This book explains how a parallel pre-glow system works and how to properly test it using inexpensive electrical testing equipment. If your PENCIL style glow plugs are not working properly, you need to find the cause BEFORE you start buying parts.
Book 1 explains how a series pre-glow system works and how to properly test it using inexpensive electrical testing equipment. If your glow plugs are not working you need to find the cause BEFORE you start buying parts. This is something you can do yourself.
When an engine is both overheating and losing coolant, you first want to exhaust all possibilities that the cause is something simple or inexpensive to repair. It is possible it might just be a stuck thermostat with a faulty water pump leaking coolant at the same time.
If your engine is just running hot, it may be due to a plugged radiator or possibly a stuck thermostat. If your engine is just losing coolant it could be a leak in the water pump, radiator or hoses.
Please note: Does not include sprocket. The pump has been taken apart and inspected. No excessive tooth scoring. Bolts are loose. The pump will need to be cleaned - oiled and reassembled before installation. Excellent used condition.
These instructions are part of our radiator neck reinforcement kit and a printed copy is included free with the purchase of that kit (see related products below).
Running badly means poor performance. It happens sooner or later to EVERY diesel owner. The word "performance" is often used to describe how well a diesel engine runs once started. The principles discussed will cover all Mercedes diesels from the mid 1950s to the mid 1990s.
A diesel compression test is an extremely important engine diagnostic procedure. It should be done on any diesel you are planning to purchase. More than any other test, it can tell you if you are purchasing a healthy engine.
Changing the V-belts on your older 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine can be a pain. If you have not done it before it can be a REAL pain that leaves you confused and frustrated. In some cases it is possible to damage or break critical adjusting mechanisms if not done properly.
The digital PDF instructions will walk you through the install and detailed photos will visually assist you step by step. PDF is 4 pages long.
If you have a W116 or W126 300SD or a turbo 1981 to 1985 5 cylinder W123 Diesel you must pay attention to your oil cooler hoses. If one of these hoses fail you will destroy the engine unless you are in the habit of looking at your oil pressure gauge every 5 minutes while driving.
In a perfect world your diesel would not leak a drop of fluid. Unfortunately, with the age of your vehicle, it may not be economically possible to eliminate every leak. Sometimes you may just have to live with some leaks.
New high quality replacement oil sealing rings for the main shaft (front and rear) of the Garrett T3 Turbo. This will NOT fit other turbo chargers like the KKK.
