Contamintion in the window washer fluid tank is one of the main reasons the spray nozzles get plugged up. Install this little fitler somewhere in the line between the pump and the nozzles on the hood and secure with zip ties.
This is a critical replacement part. If it lets loose at high speed it can damage your transmission and drive line. Just replace if over 20 years old! Bolts not included. Plan to use your old ones.
This is a part that hardly ever gets changed, and it is an easy DIY job if you can access it under your Benz. Make sure your model fits those described and has an O2 sensor installed. You can confirm that by the existence of an o2 sensor warning light on your dash.
This fits all Mercedes V8 engines listed in the title from 1981 to 1991 including the sedans, the SL and SEC models. I compare fan clutches to shock absorbers. They wear out slowly over time and you don't feel or see the difference until you actually replace it with new.
These are very high quality bolts. Same 8mm thread and small 10mm head as the originals. 8 is enough for two front seats.
This is a sample of the nut plate they go into on the back attach point on the W123 front seats.
We also carry this in other sizes. See related products below.
Fits chassis models W114 W115 W116 R107(except 500SL and 560SL)W123 (do NOT FIT WAGONS) and W126 ( except 500 series 500SEL, 560SEL, 560SEC) from 1972 to 1991.
You can purchase these individually, but you might want to consider replacing all four at the same time. If one is broken others are not far behind. Watch Kent's video below to see what happened to him and why he decided to manufacture these himself.
This custom-made thin head wrench by Kent Bergsma can save the day and your pocketbook. It is very important that you hold the fitting base on the oil cooler when removing the oil cooler hoses. A regular 22mm wrench is almost always too thick and can also cause damage.
Loose steering or wheels shaking at speed. This can often be worn out tie rod ball joints. The joints can be replaced as a DIY project. Watch the video below to see if this is something you want to take on yourself.
This kit includes:
You would be amazed at how much fuel can leak out of a fuel hose when you disconnect it from your tank or engine. This is an easy way to prevent messy spills.
This is a great solution to what is sometimes a nagging problem. This heavy duty and flexible and adjustable plastic spacer can be put on the top or bottom radiator to prevent chafing in and area where it might come in contact the the engine or the radiator.
Why is this so important? It is primarily due to the age of these cars now and the fact that lurking problems can be hidden from visual inspection. There is not ONE diesel that Kent has looked at in the last five years that does not need this service! Even ones with under 150,000 original miles.
The VCV valve controls the critical shifting patterns of most diesel automatic transmissions from 1978 to 1985. This includes the 1978 to 1985 300SD, the 1980 to 1985 W123 300D, 300CD and 300TD and the 1980 to 1983 240D.
Planning to replace the head gaskets on your older v8 engine. You should have this tool on hand before you start. You don't think so? Watch the video and then decide.
If the front end of your W 114 or W115 sedan or coupe wanders on the road or thunks when you go over railroad tracks, you most likely need to install a new front subframe bushing kit. I see this condition even on real low mileage pristine cars.
Version 4 update 2/22: New color and style but still does the same job. This is one of the key tools you will need to remove stubborn pre chambers from the cylinder head of your old diesel engine.
These are not Mercedes specific although some will work well in certain places on older Benz. This is a general purpose assortment that can be used on many vehicles. Handy to have in your garage.
This replacement part that we make here in our own shop is built stronger with a solid core pin so it will not break off like the originals ( See 560SL wood below for reference ). The original is only stapled on and is prone to fall off with age.
These are the best ridding shocks you can put on the W140. Note: Picture shows one shock but you will receive TWO.
Fuel hose as shown. Connects to bottom of fuel tank and drops down to fuel damper. Make sure you do not have a 1975 or early 1976 with electronic fuel injection.
Since the original style Bosch electric pumps are no longer available, Kent decided to come up with a good alternative.
NEW heavy duty outlet hose as shown.
With the long lead provided (12+ feet) you can hook up to your car battery and go around the car and test the operation of various electrical components.
Used seat track hardware as shown.
PLEASE NOTE In stock now and ready to ship. No detailed instructions at this time, but it is not a difficult install this unit once you remove the false firewall at the back of the engine. You will be able to gain access to the monovalve and electric pump assembly.
This universal 13/16-inch spark plug socket comes with a 3-inch extension. On some V8s, you have very limited room to get to the rear sparkplugs. You can add another extension for open access to bring the ratchet wrench out in the open.
Maybe your non-turbo automatic shifts just a little too early or a little too late? Maybe your turbo diesel transmission jerks a little too much or flares during shifts?
Since the original style Bosch electric water pumps are no longer available NEW. If you need a replacement pump, you have three options. 1. Buy a used pump. 2. Buy our newer pump conversion upgrade. 3. Take your inoperable pump out of the system.
This is probably the very best upgrade you can make for your automatic climate control. It will switch the hot to cold or cold to hot much faster and will hold a much steadier heat at high engine speeds.
Are you tired of your sluggish heater system? Does it take too long to change temperature. Does it get hot when you want it to get cold.
The parts in this little kit will do two things. 1. Protect your climate control push button panel. 2. The system will get more accurate readings from the climate control sensor on top of your dash.
For years I just used old shop rags to catch the drips - until I found this! What a great solution. Watch the video below for more details
This is one of the nicest I have seen both inside and out. Complete with the attachment through the rear glass hardware. Kent will also include at no extra charge his on-demand video on restoring one of these. This will show you how to remove and replace it in your wagon.
GREAT for glue on loose rubber, loose wood pieces, and even carpet. The best!
VERY high-quality socket as shown.
Tightens and Removes Collar Nuts on 220D 240D 300D 300CD 300TD 300SD 300SDL 190D 2.2 1969 to 1987. Works on most Mercedes diesel engines up through 1987 only.
Fits all models 1976 to 1985 with a wood shift cover. 240D 300D 300CD 300TD 230E 280E and 280TE. A very common issue that plagues almost all W123s. The factory pin in the back on the wood shift cover seems to always break off, leaving the wood piece loose in the center console.
This kit will not fix all your pump problems. If the motor is worn or burnt out, this won't help. But if the lower impeller is "stuck" due to lack of use and old fuel, then this could be a simple fix. In the video below, Kent will explain what this kit can fix and why it is needed.
Very good used 189 engine part for 1965 300SE coupe - condition as shown. To see other M189 parts just type "189 engine" in the search box.
Only one is available. Very good used condition. To see our other 189 engine parts just put "189 engine" in the search box.
Brand new - never been mounted. Comes with a new rubber seal for water pump housing. Good used housing from 300SE is also available. I have other 189 engine parts. Please email.
It has now become essential that you replace this filter screen on these old cars, especially if they have been using gasoline with ethanol in it and the car has sat or sits for long periods without running.
Why do you need to do this? Valve clearances are supposed to be adjusted on these early V8s every 10,000 miles. You can imagine why this does not get done! Add to the fact owners can not find the right information or tools and it makes neglect even worse Why not on later model years?
NEW reman as shown. You will need to use the front pulley and fan assembly off your current bad alternator..
See picture below to compare to original. We think this one works better due to the offset and the longer handle.
Good used working right side mirror and hardware as shown. It is not perfect so if you are looking for show quality then do not purchase. The rubber surround is very good, with no gouges or wear spots. The chome is good, but then is a very small indentation where my finger is pointing below.
This is our most complete FID kit yet. Kent wanted to make sure you would have all the parts you need including hardware.
Written in multiple languages including English. Images include reference numbers to easily find the factory part numbers listed. If you have one of these old Mercedes with a 189 engine this is a must-have reference manual.
