Please note: If you have a late 1984 or 85 model please check your starter first before ordering. If the solenoid is located on the BOTTOM of the starter this solenoid WILL NOT WORK! If you have been having problems with your starter it may be that you don't need to replace the entire unit. You may only need to replace the solenoid. Typical symptoms of a bad solenoid are the starter will sometimes turn over and sometimes wont, you may hear a click but the starter will not turn over, or the starter may engage and spin out before the engine starts. For reasons of hoping to solve fuel filter leak problems Mercedes changed the center bolt design in some 1984 to 1985 model 123 300D 300TD 300CD and 126 300SD. Instead of one o-ring on the bolt they changed it to two orings (as shown iin the picture. Problem is it is not possible to determine which bolt you have unless you remove it. A copper or aluminum washer under the head of the bolt will give you a clue you may have an older bolt design - but not for sure! I have seen some actually place a washer under the head of the bolt that has two o-rings (and this is not necessary)! The larger o-ring is particularly hard to find.

We can not get overhaul kits for these newer diesel vacuum pumps. Only option is a new pump. These fit 1984 to 1989 190D, 1986 and 1987 300SDL 300D and 300TD 350SD/L and 300D 2.5
Now in a pack of 25 for even more savings. These are my favorite European hose clamps. They tighten securely, don't cut into the hose, and don't rust or break. If you are working on an SVO fuel system for any Mercedes I recommend you have these clamps on hand. Cheap clamps can cause air leaks leading to great frustration- the US style clamps with holes that cut into the rubber. These clamps will work on all 8 mm hose, 5/16 and 3/8 US spec fuel or coolant hose.

This genuine Mercedes seal fits on the top of all 5 cylinder 617 turbo diesel engine air filter housings from 1981 to 1984. This is the hard to find seal that fits just below where the breather tube plugs into the air filter lid. This is a special order item from Mercedes Benz.
