Veggie tank faulty Sending Unit

i'm having some trouble with my sending unit in the veg tank. when the gauge reads half it is actually empty. does anyone have experience with this problem? i'm sure i could take the tank out and clean the unit, but i'd rather not. maybe i could fill the tank with diesel or biodiesel and that would clean out the gunk in the sending unit. thanks matt

When you say veg tank do you mean the factory tank, or are you using a separate tank for vegetable oil with an aftermarket sending unit? If factory tank - need year and model?

separate tank with aftermarket sending unit. the veg system came from vegpower, so i assume the sending unit came from them too. i bought the benz-84 300sd-with the system installed so i'm unsure of the sending unit model. i could find out.... thanks

I guess you will have to open the tank or remove the tank and see what kind of sending unit you have and clean it up. The information I provided was for a regular tank incase you were using a single tank veggie system.
