1981 240D what is correct tire size ??

I hope that, this is in the correct category.

What is a comparable tire size for the SR14 175 tires that came stock with the 240D? I am trying to restore the ride to the original intent of the engineers.

175SR14 is a Euro spec tire and is not available. Todays replacement is a 185-75R-14 and is close a diameter comparison as possible. No speedo change.

The next closest is 195-70R-14. It will give you a little bit better fuel mileage at freeway speeds, but speedo will be off slightly.
