617 Turbo Diesel Rack Damper Replacement and Adjustment Instructions by Kent Bergsma - Download

Applies to TURBO DIESEL 1981 to 1985 300D 300TD 300CD and 300SD ONLY

A faulty or improperly adjusted rack damper bolt can cause your 617 5 cylinder turbo diesel engine to “rock” when it is idling. This means the engine will seem like it is changing speed up and down ever so slightly. This is different from “shaking” which can be caused by poor compression, ill firing injectors, valves out of adjustment, or bad motor mounts.
