Having heater problems? Does your heater have a mind of its own. Then your 201 chassis vacuum controlled heater valve may be bad. There is no way we can guarantee this will fix your heater problems, but considering the price and the ease of replacement it is a good place to start. If the new valve does not improve your system then look for a vacuum leak or problem with your climate control switch panel. No instructions available. Valve is located on passenger side just forward of your firewall. Fits ALL 201 chassis 1984 to 1993.

Small Parts Assembly Deluxe Tweezer Set

This is my favorite set of tweezers for helping to hold small parts in place for assembly. The wide ones are particularly helpful when a second hand is needed to hold a small bolt or screw in place. Comes with seven different tweezers as shown. Good for car work. Not good for pulling hair!

100 PC bit set

Not only does this set include almost 100 pieces but it includes metric sized allen (hex) bits and even an attachment to remove a wing nut! How cool is that? Most kits don't contain metric sizes. There are probably enough screwdriver bits in this kit to last you for a very long. Comes in nice molded red case.

201 Heater Motor Replace
Most people have not had the option before of just replacing the heater motor only in their 201 chassis due to the difficulty of removing and replacing the fragile squirrel cage fans on both ends of the motor. The alternative has been a very expensive replacement Bosch unit with fans installed that lists for $430.00. Now Mercedessource offers you an alternative to the high priced replacement unit. This new motor call be installed in all 190E and 190D from 1984 to 1993.

Mercedes 190E 300E 102 103 Engine Thermostat Kit

102 103 Gas Engine Thermostat

New Behr Thermostat and sealing ring rated at 87 degrees C. Fits all 201 and 124 chassis gasoline engines from 1984 to 1995. Most thermostats only operate at peak efficiency for few years and should be changed for optimal engine performance. If your engine is not getting hot, the fuel will not burn efficiently - leading to more smoke and poor fuel economy. If you notice your heater not getting as hot as it use to, then this may be a good clue your thermostat is wearing out. A thermostat stuck closed can lead to engine overheating. It is not an expensive part and it is easy to install. If you have any doubts just replace it.

Radiator Neck Kit

Price: $21.95

Radiator Neck Kit

FITS THE FOLLOWING: Early 107, 123, early 126, 201, and 124 chassis. (Not applicable to 560SEL and 560SL. They have larger neck radiators and the pipe diameter included with this kit is too small in diameter). Since the MB original radiators are notorious for breaking off their plastic necks (can ruin your day and your engine!) it is best just to replace the old radiator with new. This is one instance where an OE part is not the best. I am really upset at Behr for the poor radiators they built during the 1980s and early 1990s. Many engines have been lost due to their plastic necks breaking off and the engine overheating. I am so mad I just do not sell Behr radiators. If you do not want to buy a whole new radiator then here is a low cost alternative.

201 190E 190D Heater Fan Switch with Instructions

Fits the following: All 201 chassis from 1984 to 1993. If your heater fan speed slide switch has been acting up best to change it before it fails. You may find it is not working on certain settings. If the switch completely fails it often jams in the off position and then you will have no heat or defrost. Best to fix before complete failure. This is a common repair item in the 201 chassis and with my instruction book (included) with step by step illustrated instructions it is easy to replace it yourself.

Auxiliary Electric Water Pump (For Heater)

Auxiliary Electric Water Pump (For Heater)

FITS THE FOLLOWING, all 116, 123, 107, 126, and 201 chassis. This is a Quality German aftermarket pump. If you are having heating problems this little unit is often overlooked. When you car is stilling at a stop light there is not enough circulation in the engine coolant to get hot water moving through the heater core. This little electric motor helps to push a consistent water flow through the core. When it fails it kinda creates another problem as well. Not only does it not help push hot water through, but it will actually create a blockage in your heating system.
