I like tools. I especially like tools that work as advertised and make the job easier. I am constantly on the lookout for new tool releases and/or unique designs. From my own experience, I know that many new tools come from someone's frustration over a tool that just does not work quite right. That is how my diesel valve adjusting wrenches came into being!. Those German Hazett valve wrenches just did not "cut it." I can not believe I have sold over 10,000 pairs of my valve wrenches. So when I see a new tool that fills a need I always smile and wonder just who was behind the concept and what happened to bring it to market!

I am an avid fan of small self stick zip tie mounts. If they are good quality the backing adhesive will stick to almost anything. I use them inside my large model airplanes to secure wiring and other components inside the fuselage. I also use them quite often in the engine compartment or under the dash to secure loose wiring and hoses. But I never thought of using them on the rear carpet shelf!!!

Our ingenious customer Keith who resides in South Africa recently used one to solve a nagging problem on the rear shelf of his SLC. His bobble head little doggy just kept falling over during hard cornering! He decided to give the zip tie sticky a shot a solving this perplexing problem. Success at last! Now his little doggy stays upright under all driving conditions. Great job Keith!

Everyone loves success stories. We can all learn from them and they just make us feel good... Lets have a little fun. The other day I was working on a couple nagging mechanical problems and decided to make a couple of short videos on these particular maladies. They are common to many diesels and both the 123 wagons I was working on had the exact same problem. Then it struck me... A sticking or hard to turn ignition key means trouble ahead. And it could be expensive trouble if you ignore the symptoms. We strongly urge our customers to fix the problem at the first sign your key starts to stick or jam. When your key is working, replacement of either the tumbler switch or the steering lock is bearable. But, if you wait too long, you may not be able to turn it at all. You could get stuck somewhere not being able to start your car or even move it. In most cases you will have to pay for a tow to a shop. Then ignition tumbler and lock replacement can become a huge hassle and very expensive. Labor to pull it out can triple and you may have to buy a complete new steering lock and switch assembly. A word for the wise: Don’t wait to fix a sticking ignition key!
